Newport Beach || East Moriches, N.Y.

We are stoked to debut at the Down By The Bay Summer Concert Series at our very own home community in East Moriches! Newport Beach holds a special place in our hearts and we cannot wait to play for our local community to help fundraise for this beautiful beach. Bring a chair, your cooler and come hang with us on the beach.

A LITTLE ABOUT Newport Beach . . .

Five acres of choice waterfront land, known as Newport Beach, became the property of the Newport Beach Property Owners Association Saturday when developer Walter Hewitt transferred the deed to the civic group. On hand for the ceremonies was NBPOA President Michael J. Mulligan, Charles Drew of the Hewitt organization and Attorney Raymond Batt. A handsome additional $800 was donated toward the maintenance fund by Hewitt.

Newport Beach, which is in East Moriches, south of the Montauk Highway was opened for development by the Hewitt organization in 1959. With the transfer of title, the Hewitt organization terminates its association with Newport Beach. This is one of the more attractive sections in the area, with increasing possibilities for continued development.

The Newport Beach Property Owners Association was incorporated in October of 1961, under the leadership of its first president, John A. Feldmann. The purpose of the organization is to protect the interests of its members, provide better facilities for the property owners, to promote cooperation and foster civic improvements. Under the direction of its officers and the Board of Directors, many of the aims have been realized. The present Board of Directors, headed by Mr. Mulligan, includes John A. Feldmann, Gerald Cohan, James Carrano, Mrs. Birdie Tripp, John Haselbeck, Harold Spencer, Robert Foster and William Johnston.

In accepting the deed, Mr. Mulligan noted the significance of the occasion, by stating it represented the culmination of many years of work on the part of the Association. He also stated plans were being developed to make the area more attractive than ever, and an asset to the East Moriches community.
